Petržalka and the future of panel housing estates

Project points out possible methods of urbanistic and architectural work with panel housing estates, on specific example of Petržalka housing estate in Bratislava. Next to the possible alternatives of solution, which is this diploma project bringing on the table, its main importance is to move forward the thinking about panel housing estates, asking questions concerning our surrounding, and to discuss the future of environment we live in.
Viticultural tradition in Bratislava

Viticulture has long belonged to Bratislava. It has been mentioned in archival reports since the middle of the 13th century. The vineyards stretched from Bratislava Castle to Rača and Vajnor. Especially in the last century, large-scale construction of apartment and family houses began to replace vineyards. This trend still persists and developers attract people to live with a view of the city and the proximity of nature, from which, however, they take themselves. The vineyards have been receding for the centuries of the developing city and this historic heritage is falling into oblivion. however, vineyards are not only a reminder of the glorious past, but also of irreplaceable creators of biodiversity and contribute to a better climate for the city. The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the retreat of vineyards expanding in Bratislava. Conditions for vine growing and its processing in Bratislava and its surroundings. Subsequently, finding a suitable form and applying the outputs from the analytical part in a specific architectural design.
Comparing flat prices in the Czech Republik and Slovakia

The objective of this Diploma Thesis is to benchmark prices of preselected types of flats in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Main aim of this exercise is to examine the pricing rules in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Other area of focus is to set prices for selected prices of flats in the suburb and in the city center of Brno and Bratislava and compare them with each other. Analyze which factors affect prices and how they differ from each other.
NEW ON THE „OLD“ – Brno, Bratislavská - Stará Corner

NEW FOR OLD project addresses the corner of two streets of Brno and Bratislava old. According to the assignment, there should be designed multi-functional building with 60 percent of the residential areas and 40 percent of other functions. In my case, it is only in residential and commercial functions. The house has two floors garage, two floors of commercial stalls and up above them in the form of small solitary building performs the function of housing. Materials of construction are mutually traced from protruding mass at the flush passage to a detached house on the northern border. The whole building is to some extent a paraphrase of the concept of yin-yang.
Waterfront Danube in Bratislava

The theme of diploma thesis is an urbanistic and architectonic study of selected parts of the waterfront between Starý most and Most SNP. The area is divided into three locations (Námestie Ľ. Štúra, Šafárikovo námestie a Tyršovo nábrežie). These analysis are processed with visions for possible further development. The Creative centre study is dealing to increase attractiveness of Tyršovo nábrežie.

Architecture of travelling

The design deals with the construction of the new railway station in Bratislava- Filialka situated at the current browfied, presently not used freight depot, as a part of a complex conception of a public transport in Bratislava. Nevertheless, the project does not just design the railway station as a utilitarian traffic issue but it offers a complex vision of the transformation of the whole location into a new sub-centre of Bratislava by means of constructing new offices and dwellings untraditionally built above the rails. The goal of the project is to transform the station into an integral part of the Bratislava urban structure and trigger off social life in it. The ambition of the design is to maximally exploit the potentials of the location and offer the vision of a coexistence between the private and public sectors.
NEW ON THE „OLD“ – Brno, Bratislavská - Stará Corner

The project is composed of three buldings, with opened corner, creating public space southly. Northern part is created by green courtyard. The main five-storey building offers student housing, with the possibility to transform the student apartments into apartments for couples or young families. Parter this object lines ground floor building of a grocery store. The following dancing or sports center, with glass facade into a new square, equipped by shielding elements in form of vertical wooden slats, offers three halls. Parking is solved by an automatic car parking system, with parking spaces for residents and the public. Construction of the car parking system is 3 meters below ground courtyard.
Analysis and optimization of cycling transport in Bratislava

The bachelor's thesis analyzes the current situation of bicycle transport in the city of Bratislava, especially with regard to achieving safety and comfort when using a bicycle as a means of transport. The work emphasizes bicycle transport as a driving force for sustainable mobility and a healthy, prosperous society. The analysis shows that quality cycling infrastructure can help the city of Bratislava with growing traffic problems and polluted air. The theoretical part contains information on how to increase the safety of bicycle transport and how to calm urban transport in favor of bicycle transport. The analytical part evaluates the current state, critical points and describes the areas with contra-flow cycling. The practical part optimizes the existing cycling routes with the priority of safely segregating cyclists from the rest of the traffic in accordance with the spatial possibilities.
Apartment rent and the factors that influence it in selected locations in Brno and Bratislava

This diploma thesis describes and compares the actual situation on the rental housing market in selected locations in Brno and Bratislava. The introductory chapters present the theoretical information in the field of rental housing, the historical background of housing policies and the description of the selected locations. The following part contains market research data for each category according to the floor area and disposition. Finally, the gathered information is compared and the influence of factors on the amount of rent is evaluated.
